Privacy Policy

Last updated: 19 July 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how this website collects, uses and protects your personal data, and the rights you have under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Greek data-protection law.

Who we are (data controller)

This website, microgreens.org.gr, is operated by the European Voluntary and Educational Center (EVEC Athens), a non-profit organisation based in Athens, Greece.

  • Address: Polifimou 17, Zografou, 157 71, Athens, Greece
  • Contact for privacy matters: evec.microgreens@gmail.com

What data we collect and why

Contact and enquiry forms

When you send us a message through a contact or enquiry form (powered by Fluent Forms), we collect the information you provide — typically your name, email address and message. We use it only to respond to you and to keep a record of our correspondence. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering enquiries (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)), and your consent where you provide additional information voluntarily (Art. 6(1)(a)).

Newsletter

If you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address to send you updates. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email, or by contacting us. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)).

Comments

When you leave a comment, we collect the details shown in the comment form, plus your IP address and browser user-agent string to help detect spam. If you leave a comment you may opt in to storing your name, email and website in cookies for your convenience. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) and our legitimate interest in preventing abuse (Art. 6(1)(f)).

Analytics and advertising

With your consent, we use Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads (via Google Site Kit) to understand how the site is used and to measure our campaigns. These services may set cookies and process technical data such as your IP address, device and browser information. We operate Google Consent Mode, so these non-essential cookies are only activated after you accept them. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)).

Embedded and third-party content

Some pages load content or resources from third parties — for example Google Fonts, and embedded Google Slides or videos. When such content loads, the third party may receive your IP address and set its own cookies. These providers act as independent controllers under their own privacy policies.

Server logs and security

Our hosting provider (Hostinger) automatically records standard server-log data — such as IP address, date and time of access, and pages requested — to keep the site secure and running. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in the security and stability of the site (Art. 6(1)(f)).

How long we keep your data

  • Enquiry-form messages: kept while we handle your request and for up to 24 months afterwards, then deleted.
  • Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.
  • Comments: retained as long as the comment is published, so we can recognise follow-up comments.
  • Analytics: according to Google’s retention settings.
  • Server logs: for a short period as set by our host, then rotated.

Who we share your data with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the service providers that make this website work — for example our hosting provider and Google (analytics and advertising) — acting as our processors or as independent controllers. Some of these providers, such as Google, are based in the United States; where data is transferred outside the EU/EEA, it is protected by appropriate safeguards such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and Standard Contractual Clauses.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, the right to data portability, and the right to withdraw consent at any time (without affecting processing already carried out). To exercise any of these rights, contact us at evec.microgreens@gmail.com.

If you believe your data has been handled unlawfully, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Greek supervisory authority:

Hellenic Data Protection Authority (Αρχή Προστασίας Δεδομένων Προσωπικού Χαρακτήρα)
Kifissias Avenue 1–3, 115 23 Athens, Greece
Website: www.dpa.gr — Email: complaints@dpa.gr

Cookies

We use essential cookies that are needed for the site to function, and — only with your consent — non-essential cookies for analytics and advertising. You can accept or reject non-essential cookies through our cookie settings, and you can control or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised “last updated” date.
