Growing a Sustainable Future with Microgreens

The microgreens methodology is a hands-on way of learning that works for any vocation and any age, running since 2025. It was born inside a European Solidarity Corps project and is practised by a team of international volunteers. The organisation behind the methodology is EVEC Athens (evec.org.gr), an accredited Greek NGO working in European projects since 2017. Together, we grow microgreens, learn how to cultivate them in urban spaces, and share practical knowledge and recipes to make them part of everyday life.
The methodology is rooted in a simple idea: eating well feels different when you grow the food yourself. Even in a big city like Athens, microgreens allow us to produce fresh, nutritious food at home, with very little space and resources.
The microgreens methodology is about learning by doing, sharing skills, and reconnecting with food in a more conscious and sustainable way.
