This microgreens growing guide is a universal, step-by-step walkthrough of the complete ten-day cycle: setup, sowing, the blackout period, watering, light, and harvest. It gives clear daily instructions with guidance at several levels of experience, so a complete beginner and a practised grower can both follow it at the depth they need. Nothing in it is tied to a single crop, so you can run it with whichever seed you have to hand; the microgreens crop database covers how individual varieties differ.
Who uses this microgreens growing guide
Teachers use it as the backbone of a classroom unit, youth workers as an activity structure, adult educators as a session plan, and home growers as tray-side instructions. Because the cycle is short and the results are visible every single day, it works as well in a youth centre as it does in a kitchen.
Status and feedback
This guide is published as an open draft while we develop it further. If you use it, we would genuinely like to know what worked and what did not. There is a feedback form at the foot of the toolkits page. It is released under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 licence, so you may copy, adapt and teach from it as long as you credit the source.
